Abstract

L'invention décrit un quasi-prépolymère permettant d'obtenir une mousse d'uréthanne ayant une bonne résistance à froid. Le prépolymère présente de 27 à 31 % de groupes NCO libres; on l'obtient en faisant réagir un MDI essentiellement pur avec un polyol à faible poids moléculaire (240 à 1500) et ayant de 2,7 à 3,3 groupes fonctionnels. Très réactif, le quasi-prépolymère permet cependant des durcissements rapides de la mousse d'uréthanne en moins de 2 minutes. Les mousses obtenues peuvent notamment servir de revêtements pour divers accessoires d'automobiles.The invention describes a quasi-prepolymer making it possible to obtain a urethane foam having good resistance to cold. The prepolymer has 27-31% free NCO groups; it is obtained by reacting essentially pure MDI with a polyol of low molecular weight (240 to 1500) and having 2.7 to 3.3 functional groups. Very reactive, the quasi-prepolymer however allows rapid hardening of the urethane foam in less than 2 minutes. The foams obtained can in particular serve as coatings for various automobile accessories.
