Abstract

The grid plate (1) rests with its edge (17) along the centreline of an I-beam (3). A bracket (7) is made from rectangular steel and has a fixing hole towards one end. The fixing bolt (13) holds a strap (14) which spans two consecutive sides of the grid (1). The bolt goes trhough a bottom strap and the bracket (7). The bracket extends underneath the joist flange (2). A locknut (9) enables the bracket to be tightened on to the joist.
