Abstract

In the production of the hollow-chamber profiles, the aim, for reasons of cost, is to make savings on weight which then results in the walls of the profiles being very thin. Thin walls, however, are easily deformed. In the case of a metal hollow-chamber profile (1), convex or concave deformations of the large profile walls are eliminated, despite using small amounts of material. The visible surfaces run in a level manner. This is achieved in that webs (4) are provided on the inner side of the large profile walls (2, 3). The webs (4) pass through undercut grooves in inserts (5) which keep the large profile walls (2, 3) at an invariable distance from one another.
