Abstract

The fastener is for use on french-windows or shutters and hasa vertical transmission rod which is adjustable for length. The fastener secures the free edges of a double shutter together and against stops at closure, and has a hand-latch at mid height. The rod is fixed rotatably to the free edge of one shutter and comprises two lengths which are fixed into a sleeve appended to the latch. The two ends of the rods may be fixed in the sleeve by diametric screws and thus can be cut accurately to length during installation. The remote ends of the rods, i.e. locating at the head and foot of the shutter, receive radially projecting hook pieces.
