Abstract

A control circuit (1) for units is designed to provide protection against faults in equipment which are signalled by differential changes in current. The circuit removes the need to insert resistors in the control lines of the equipment depending on the sensitivity expected to check its correct functioning and the need to power the associated cut-out switch. The circuit has a generator providing a variable low level voltage corresponding approximately to that of the power supply and having a frequency slightly higher than this supply. Current drawn is displayed, this unit being fed from a memory. The generator is controlled from a reference source which is dependent on the current drawn.
