Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant d'entasser de l'adsorbant de façon dense dans une colonne de séparation comportant une chambre d'au moins 1,8 m de largeur. Ce procédé comprend les étapes suivantes : a. mélanger l'adsorbant à un excès d'un réactif concentré qui cause une concentration de d'adsorbant en sa présence, l'adsorbant étant capable de gonfler lorsqu'on élimine l'excès de réactif concentré; b. disposer l'adsorbant, à son état de volume réduit, dans la colonne de séparation; c. confiner efficacement l'adsorbant dans la chambre de la colonne de séparation et; d. ensuite éliminer de l'adsorbant confiné l'excès du réactif concentré de sorte que l'adsorbant est amené à gonfler et à se tasser complètement et uniformément dans toute la chambre de la colonne.
