Abstract

The gun turret for an armoured vehicle or a ship is mounted on three axes to allow for side roll of the vehicle. It consists of a base (10) mounted on a floor (11). On the base is a rotating table (13). A plate (14) with a circular groove is fixed on the table. A imobile disc turns on the axis (XX') to about 15 deg.-20 deg. and has a central groove (17) and two bearings on an axis at right angles to the axis (XX'). There is a cradle (19), with axis (YY') and pivots which support the gun barrel and sealing can be provided to protect the inside of the turret.
