Abstract

The housing (1) has a neck by which the vent can be connected to a suitable point of the piping system. The housing is designed as a float chamber with float (7) carrying guide pin operating within the chamber. On top, the float is fitted with a connecting pin (9) with extended head (10) hooked between the two legs of hairpin-shaped valve operating arm (11). When air collects in the float chamber, the rising air pressure forces the water level in the chamber, and consequently the float downwards. Operating arm (11) pivots in points (12) and swings downwards, the extended head (13) on stem (14) being lifted off valve seat (17). The accumulated air escapes through the cap (30).
