Abstract

On utilise de préférence une tête magnétique multipiste qui reste fixe par rapport à la bande magnetique déplacée et dont les entrefers de tête sont successivement associés, lors de la course avant, aux lignes d'une trame. Ainsi, la trame est enregistrée ou explorée lors de la reproduction par balayage, entrefer par entrefer, sous la forme de courtes pistes très étroites s'étendant les unes au-dessus des autres. Lors de la course arrière de la bande magnétique, les entrefers de tête sont ensuite associés dans l'ordre inverse aux lignes de la trame, tandis que la succession des pistes est décalée à chaque inversion d'au moins un entrefer. Les entrefers qui font ainsi défaut à la fin de la succession des pistes sont remplacés cycliquement par un nombre correspondant d'entrefers à l'autre extremité de la série des entrefers de tête. Application à la fabrication de magnétoscopes grand public compacts et bon marché et néammoins de grande précision.
