Abstract
The motorcycle comprises a rear wheel (3) on a shaft carried by swing arms (16) freely pivotable on separate shafts (14) carried by frame uprights (10). A suspension unit (18) is connected between each swing arm and a frame part (11), the transfer pinion (23, 24) of the chain drive being mounted on one of the shafts to suppress rear weight transfer during acceleration. The calipers for the brake disc (29) are carried by a horizontal transverse member supported on the rear end of a torque arm (31) selectively connected to one of a series of holes in an oblique frame member. This connection of the calipers to the frame instead of the arm reduces forward weight transfer on braking.
