Abstract

The cassette holds the ribbon used on a typewriter and has a plastic case with a cover. The ribbon (1) enters the cassette at one end (5), being pulled by a pair of spring loaded rollers (13, 14). The inner volume of the case is divided into two unequal compartments (17, 18) by means of two sills (20) positioned transversely across. These sills are raised rectangular strips which provide a restriction. The ribbon is packed tightly (22) into the first compartment until is spills over into the second. Here, it becomes loose and free (23). It can easily be removed through the outlet (8), past a free-running roller (19).
