Abstract

The insulating infill (2) for between floor beams (1) is made from expanded polstyrene or another expanded plastic and comprises along one edge a tongue (3) which has a width at least equal to that of the heel (4) of the largest floor beam and along the other edge a notch (5) which has a depth at least equal to the difference in width of heel between the largest and smallest floor beams. The infill can also be hollowed out, in which case it has edges perpendicular to those which rest on the beams and stiffening ribs at intervals of 60cm. It can also be used as shuttering for in situ concrete floor topping.
