Abstract
The generator injects the calling signal for telephone subscriber handsets. The generator is entirely electronic removing the need for mechanical relays and reduces the circuit weight and volume. Two identical triacs are connected between the subscriber and supply lines and are in a conducting state when the subscriber is being called. An NPN and a PNP transistor are connected between one subscriber line and the negative line and between the second subscriber line and ground respectively, these conducting during the ringing tone pauses. Each triac gate circuit is fed from a further triac allowing a.c. to circulate in the primary triac gate circuits during the ringing period.
