Abstract

A rotating platform carrying an arm chair for a patient receiving medical examination is rotated at predetermined angular accelerations. A torque transmitter and servo system ensure correct angular acceleration. The shaft (7) carrying the inductor (8) of a torque transmitter is driven via a belt from a motor (9). The induction disc (10) of the torque transmitter is connected to the platform which is suspended by a shaft (12) guided radially by bearings (13). Clip rings (15) ensure that the torque transmitter is supplied with power and that signals giving angular position are transmitted to a servo control system to eliminate discontinuities and perturbations of motor torque.
