Abstract

Slats (9) are pivoted at one edge on vertical axes to a chain (7) in a duct (17). A jack (4) is connected to one end of the chain. A slat (2) at the other end in tunnel (1) acts as a piston to discharge the manure onto the pile (19). The slat (2) is pivoted on a vertical axis to a slide (20) of inverted channel section which is moved to and fro on sliders in the tunnel by a jack (3) above it. The jacks (3, 4) are synchronised, (3) being more powerful than (4). Movement of the slats towards pile (19) conveys manure along the duct. On reverse movement, the slats pivot and return so as to make a further delivery on the next stroke.
