Abstract

Cette invention se rapporte aux machines électro-dynamiques à supra-conducteur. Une génératrice à supra-conducteurs utilise des écrans d'amortissement et de radiation distincts autour d'un enroulement inducteur à supra-conducteur, une paire de cylindres coaxiaux sont maintenus séparés radialement par des entretoises, un métal liquide remplit l'espace entre les cylindres concentriques et lorsque le rotor, y compris les cylindres, est accéléré jusqu'à sa vitesse de fonctionnement, le métal liquide atteint une vitesse synchrone en raison de la composante de viscosité entre le métal liquide et les parois des cylindres. Pendant le fonctionnement à vitesse constante, la protection du rotor est réalisée par le métal liquide électriquement conducteur se déplaçant à une vitesse synchrone. Le courant engendré dans l'écran de métal liquide protège l'enroulement inducteur à supra-conducteur du flux alternatif engendré dans l'induit en raison d'un déséquilibre de phase et d'harmoniques. Cette invention s'applique aux génératrices électriques.
