Abstract
A variable voltage control for controlling the ventilation fan in a motor vehicle comprises a potentiometer and a semiconductor element. Separation of these elements enables them to be located in the most suitable positions. A variable voltage control for a fan motor (11) comprises a potentiometer assembly (10A) connected to a transistor (12) assembly (10B). The potentiometer assembly comprises a potentiometer whose slider (17) is driven from a control knob via a threaded shaft. The slider adjusts the valves of two linear resistors (22) placed parallel to one another. Connectors (21A, 23, 24) permit connection to the dc supply and to the transistor. A single connector (108) connects the transistor to the motor.
