Abstract
Câble de fibres optiques, à grande résistance à l'écrasement. Il comporte un groupe de fils d'acier 10 constituant des cylindres lisses serres par une bande 13 de manière à occuper un volume de section polygonale minimale, et l'ensemble est recouvert d'une gaine de plastique extrudée 14. Les fibres, notamment des fibres de verre revêtues de plastique 12, sont maintenues avec jeu dans les interstices il définis par les fils, de préférence les seuls interstices circonscrits par trois cylindres tangents. Les interstices peuvent être partiellement remplis de vaseline ou d'un matériau thermoplastique. Application aux systèmes de télécommunications optiques.
