Abstract

Protective circuit breakers for a polyphase electrical distribution network comprise elements sensitive to voltage or current connected to the network via transformers. They are checked in a simulated network which represents actual conditions. A sensor for a protection circuit breaker is supplied with voltage and current via voltage and curent controllers which also deliver second output values representing fault conditions. These values and timing signals are measured on digital voltmeter and curent meter containing memory circuits to memorise values. The fault conditions re applied by controlled switching elements in response to control signals from a d.c. source.
