Abstract

Procédé pour la fabrication de fonte. On utilise des matières contenant des oxydes de fer, du combustible et de l'oxygène gazeux; on préreduit par un gaz mixte la matière contenant les oxydes de fer et on l'injecte avec une partie du gaz mixte obtenu en fin de procédé dans le bain de fonte par le canal extérieur d'une lance en soufflant simultanément de l'oxygène par le canal intérieur de la lance; on injecte le reste du gaz mixte dans la surface du bain (écume de laitier) en même temps que de l'oxygène gazeux. Le gaz issu de la réduction en bain de fusion est refroidi et dépoussiéré, la chaleur qu'il contient sert à la préréduction et à la production d'énergie, le gaz ainsi dépoussiéré constituant le gaz mixte. Production économique de fonte et éventuellement fabrication de NH 3 à partir de gaz mixte soutiré.
