Abstract

Préparation d'acide isophtalique ou d'acide téréphtalique par l'oxydation, respectivement, de méta- ou de para-xylène avec de l'oxygène moléculaire, à des températures élevées et dans des conditions en phase liquide en présence de catalyseurs constitués par une combinaison d'au moins un catalyseur d'oxydation à base de métal de transition (Mn, Co, Ce) et en présence d'une source de brome. Conformément à l'invention, on utilise un système solvant liquide comprenant essentiellement de l'acide benzoïque et de l'eau en une proportion en poids maintenue entre 3 % et environ 15 %.
