Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé et un four pour préparer un bain de fusion renfermant du verre et des constituants radio-actifs provenant notamment d'un traitement de recyclage ou analogue de combustibles nucléaires. Elle est caractérisée en ce qu'il consiste à introduire dans le four, par le haut, les constituants radio-actifs en suspension aqueuse ou sous forme de boue, en combinaison avec un mélange susceptible d'être transformé en verre, lors de la fusion, à chauffer le mélange ainsi formé qui renferme du verre et les constituants radio-actifs, en faisant passer à travers ce mélange un courant électrique, et de faire en sorte que la circulation de la masse fondue, du haut vers le bas, se fasse en direction strictement verticale. Application dans le domaine de la neutralisation des déchets radio-actifs.
