Abstract
Procédé pour produire de l'acide sulfurique à partir de gaz contenant de l'hydrogène sulfuré obtenus lors de l'épuration de gaz de distillation de houille et contenant, en plus de l'hydrogène sulfuré, surtout du dioxyde de carbone, de l'acide cyanhydrique, de l'ammoniac et de la vapeur d'eau, dans lequel procédé le gaz est brûlé dans une installation de combustion 11, l'eau en excès est condensée par refroidissement (en 14 et 15, 18 et 20) et le gaz est de nouveau échauffé (en 16) et oxydé catalytiquement avec addition d'air (en 31), le dioxyde de soufre étant transformé en trioxyde de soufre et les gaz oxydés étant refroidis et condensés à l'aide d'acide sulfurique dilue (en 33). Le condensat obtenu lors du refroidissement des gaz (en 20) après l'opération de combustion est séparé dans une colonne de séparation 27 à l'aide d'air et l'air enrichi d'anhydride sulfureux sortant de la colonne est ramené dans le processus. Application : production d'acide sulfurique dans les cokeries.
