Abstract

The shelving system has rectangular frames (1) which are joined by lengthwise (2) and/or crosswise bars (3). The uprights (8) and crosspieces (9) of the frames, and the bars are made of sheet metal sections. The uprights are of G shaped cross section, and the crosspieces of C shaped cross section, with the middle cut out at the ends where they are welded to the ends of uprights. Along the entire upper surface of the lengthwise bars is a raised, middle ridge acting as a support surface to the crossbars. The ends of the C shaped cross bars have hooked cut out sections, on level with the centre ridge. Couplings (11) on the uprights and plates (12) on the ends of the lengthwise bars have slits in for the couplings (11) to fit into. Two sides of the lengthwise bars have a row of slits or holes in for the cross bars to fit into.
