Abstract

The unit is used for electrostatic deposition of fibres or metal particles and has a circular plastic bowl (2) as the head. This is fitted with a plastic mesh filter screen (1) over its opening. Inside its base is a metal plate (3), held by a bolt (16) passing through the bowl and an insulating plate (5) on the outside. The connector (9) for the electrical cable (11) screws onto this bolt, being inside an insulating tube (10). At this point, these are additional corona rings (6, 7) fitted to the insulating plate. The tube is extended for form part of the handle (12, 13) for the unit, this being suitably earthed (14, 15).
