Abstract

The jet (17) is used in an oil fired central heating boiler and is fitted into a nozzle body (12). The face (16) of the jet has a conical profile, the point being truncated (18). This is held against a similar conical profile in the nozzle body. Oil feeds through a single tangential groove (8) on the conical face of the jet. This leads into an annular chamber (32) in the apex of the nozzle body cone. An annular recess (9) intersects the tapered rear surface (7) of the hole (6) through the nozzle, forming a sharp edge (31): a similar arrangement (5) is on the outer face of the body.
