Abstract
The acoustic input conductances of the mutually opposite sound-absorbing margins are different from one another. This difference in the acoustic input conductances of mutually opposite duct sides is constant or at least constant in sections in the sound propagation direction. To this end, either partitions (4), which are arranged outside the splitter centre, are arranged inside the splitters (1), or different coverings of the mutually opposite splitter coverings are formed, or materials with different flow resistances or adjacently lying alternate arrangements of splitters are formed. With this, during the sound propagation, energy is constantly drawn off from the symmetrical wave form which can only be weakly damped and is changed into the antisymmetrical wave form which is provided with greater propagation damping because in this manner an increased damping of the entire sound field results overall.
