Abstract

The pivoting cantilever bracket arm (2) may be supported by a diagonal stay (5). The stay extends between pin joints on a wall plate and the cantilever arm, and the latter pin (4) slides in a linear slot (3) in the cantilever arm (2) to obtain bracket retraction. The locking mechanism comprises a handled (10) lever (6) with an intermediary fulcrum (7). The lever tip is notched (9) to engage the bracket to stay pin (4) and prevent it sliding in the bracket slot (3). Alternatively the cantilever arm (2) may be supported by two pins which locate in 'V' shaped guidage slots.
