Abstract

The plug (1) is made of plastic with a square head (6) is proposed. The shank (11) has a square cross section which is smaller than the head (6) and is provided with a number of parallel circumferential ribs (7). The shank (11) is split longitudinally and a hole (2a) in the head runs into the split. This shape of plug readily adapts itself to hols of irregular shape. The ribs pref. do not extend circumferentially around the shank, but are instead arranged in two symmetrical sets with a gap between. This allows space for the plastic to deform on either side.
