Abstract

The life buoy consists of a reservoir (1) containing gas under pressure, located in a container (2) and able to slide within the container. The reservoir has a neck (6) which opens out at the edges (3). The edges of the neck rest on a collar (4) located at the lower edge of an auxiliary chamber (5). The space (5) is integral with the container (2). The inflatable buoy (7) encloses the container and the reservoir. A lid (8) fits over the base of the container. A porous filter pad (11) covers the inside of the lid and the hole (10) in the base of the lid, water pressure inside the lid forces the reservoir to decompress the gas. The filter retards the priming and allows diving.
