Abstract

A gas burner flue has its outlet (5) passing through the wall (6) spacer rods (2) carrying flat steel strips in the form of a helix (1), have a spherical diffuser section (4) mounted on their end. An annular space around the exhaust pipe allows the inlet of combustion air. A secondary inlet pipe (12) has similar spacer rods (8) helical guides (7) and an open diffuser (10). Combustion air enters through an annular space around the secondary inlet pipe. The pressure difference between inlet and outlet is balanced by the secondary air inlet connected to the exhaust pipe whilst the guides and diffusers prevent turbulence in the combustion air.
