Abstract

A combined sound reducing and safety barrier has horizontal panels (8) with corrugations (12) along them and flat edges for bolting together in a two teir arrangement, as well as for attachment to vertical posts. They are formed into two panels, spaced apart with the posts between them. Each post consists of a U-shaped vertical (10, 11) with each flange bent outwards at an angle (32, 33) then returned again at a right angle (34) so that bolts (25) can be passed through. The resulting hollow column is then mounted around feet which rest on the ground. These feet have channel shaped uprights (40) which fit inside the column, supported on base plates (41).
