Abstract

A means of avoiding or reducing the disadvantages of conventional sheet material marking methods is used for sheets intended as templates or actual material to be processed. On at least one surface the sheet has a raster in the form of a rectangular grid. The elements of a raster are squares with sides of one millimetre or an exact multiple of one millimetre, of it maybe graduated in fractions of an inch. At least one line of the raster may have numerical indication relative to a reference point. Various types of marking may be used, including coloured, for which an aluminium sheet is suitable. The method facilitates marking, centre-punching or tracing accurately yet quickly and conveniently.
