Abstract

The screw cap (2) screwed onto the neck (3) of the bottle (4) is covered by a sheath (5). The two are separated by a spring (8) which holds a collar (6) on the sheath at the top of a groove (7) in the screw cap and means that the two can be turned relative to each other without opening the bottle. The top of the screw cap and the interior of the top of the sheath have segments at two different levels (9, 10, 11, 12) which interlock at only one position when pressure is applied, enabling a ball (15) trapped between the screw cap and the sheath to fit into a spherical cavity (16) in the sheath and the cap to be unscrewed.
