Abstract

The cylindrical roll of the wound capacitor consists of two metal foil strips and two intermediate dielectric foil strips. Opposite winding ends carry the capacitor terminals. At least one terminal is in the form of an electrically and thermally conductive heat sink block (17, 23), against which abuts a considerable part of adjacent edges of one metal foil to form an electric connection. Preferably two such blocks of the capacitor roll (1) are provided, each affording the contacting of the appropriate metal foil edges. A holder may aligne the capacitor roll at right angles to one or both heat sink blocks. The holder may be formed by a blind bore (21) in the block surface and a winding mandrel (10) through the capacitor roll, which engages the bore with a tight fit.
