Abstract

The appts. for inspecting the buckling and unbalance of wheel rims, of cycles comprises a U-shaped chassis (3) at the ends of whose arms graduated scales (6) are fitted, these running parallel to the bae (2) of the U. These scales carrya reception vee at their ends into which the ends of the axle (11) of the wheel to be inspected are fitted. Two adjustable rods supported by fixed sleeves or flanges extend towards the front of the chassis and carry, on their lower extremities, appropriate testing mechanisms. The buckling test mechanism comprises two jaws (27, 28) mounted on a rod which cause there proximity and extension to become symmetrical during the rotation. The unbalance test mechanism comprises a rod which makes contact with the rim and which can move parallel to the axle of the wheel and be brought back in the latters direction elastically against the pressure of an adjustable stop.
