Abstract

The clamp is operated by hand to hold a rope or provide a brake. It also has an auxiliary pulley (4) enabling it to be used as a simple pulley block for handling loads. It comprises a main body (1), having sides with the rope (13) passing between them. The upper portion is formed as a guide channel (5), a subframe (2) at the top pivoting on the sides and provided with a cam surface (3). This subframe is spring loaded (12) and is closed inwards to brake the rope. The clamp it, the subframe can be locked around the pulley pivot (4a), a latch (10, 10a, 11) being provided.
