Abstract

The system controls movement of a slide actuated by one or more hydraulic rams. It has a slide valve (12) mechanically actuated by a single component, and to which there is delivered oil under pressure. From the valve, connections are taken to chambers in the rams (3) either side of the pistons and fluid is delivered to them to move the pistons in the desired direction. All communication to the rams is shut off in the intermediate position of the valve. The slide valve is adjusted to regulate the speed of the slide. In the oil pressure supply pipe there may e mounted in succession in the direction of flow, a constant flow pump (16), a pilot valve (18), and a non-return valve (19).
