Abstract

In an electrical generating set with a thermal motor a frequency to voltage or current tachometric convertor is used for control purposes. A convertor circuit enables a tachometric convertor to utilise the remanent voltage from an alternator. The voltage (U1) from an alternator is applied to a step down transformer (1) to reduce dissipation in a resister (2) in series with an integrator (3, 4). Back to back diodes (10) limit the amplifier input. The integrator output (7) provides an alternating voltage output (U2) whose frequency is between certain limits and which is applied via a zener diode (11) to a transistor (12). The transistor controls conduction of current in the lines (L1, L2) to a tachometric converter.
