Abstract

The clamp assembly is for holding pipe ends against axial separation and comprises two clamp rings connected by axial bars. Each ring is made of at least two segments (4) having flanges connected together by tangentially disposed screws, tightening of the screws clamping the segments on to the adjacent pipe. Each segment is made of ferrous material and has hardened teeth (10) to indent the surface of the pipe and ensure grip against axial displacement of the segment. The segments may be of channel section, the teeth being formed at the free edges of the channel. The teeth may be oblique to the pipe surface.
