Abstract

The coupling between two rotating machine shafts has axial elasticity. The shafts at both ends are connected to the coupling by external and internal gear teeth. The shafts carry rings with gear teeth and the coupling arrangement has matching external or internal gear teeth. The impact forces are absorbed by axial stops. A second connection in addition to the toothed connection has a flexible pin and diaphragm assembly (11,14) between the first machine shaft and the rigid coupling shaft (10). A similar flexible coupling (12,16) is arranged symmetrically to the first between the second shaft (2) and the rigid coupling shaft. The flexible coupling has rigid holders (8,9) connected firmly with the toothed rims.
