Abstract

The feed device is for an automatic machine which places articles in sacks which are manufactured from sheets of synthetic materials. An unfolding station is situated at one end of the feed line, followed by a sack opener and transfer mechanism which removes the sack from the opener and places it on filling rollers. While in the process of being filled, the sack edges are held open by an arm which then closes the top when the sack is full. A feed reel is positioned at the end of the station which dispenses the bags in the form of sheets which are then separated by cutting along longitudinally soldered seams.
