Abstract

The foam pref. has an s.g. of >=500 kg/cm3. The side slats are reinforced by wooden or metal profiles, gratings or reinforcements made of cables or wires. The reinforcement is embedded within the foam. The base is reinforced by a fabric, fleece or glass fibre structure embedded in the foam. The side slats and/or the base may be protected by a reinforcement extending to the outer surface of the mould. The mould can be easily produced at low cost. It has good resistance to conditions employed during pressing, longer life than wood moulds, and requires less lubricant than wood moulds.
