Abstract

The pleasure boat has a movable keel, made by plastics injection-moulding, and housed in a well (10) on the boat underside. The keel (12) can rotate about its axis (11), and is supported by friction rollers (13,14). Rotation of the keel is achieved by rotating a worm (15) consisting of a helical screw of a symmetrical triangular tooth section. This engages a toothed sector (16) on the keel head wheel. The end of the worm screw is held in a bearing (17) and moved by a screw (18). Disengaging the screw allows rapid change of position.
