Abstract

The pump is made compact by fixing the pump body directly to the housing of the pump motor. Is is mounted in the washing machine on a flexible jointed arm that terminates in a collar into which the motor fits. The jointed arm is composed of short plates with hinges at each end. The pump cover turns through 360 degrees and the water pipe which enters the cover at an angle can be turned through 360 degrees. Thus there is a wide choice of positions for the pump connectors. Pump is fitted with an aspiration pipe, which also can be turned to point in any direction, and which can be used to drain the pump, when necessary.
