Abstract

Loose material, esp. in malt houses, is levelled out and cleared by revolving raking arms which can be raised and lowered. A gear motor for the rotary drive of the arms transmits its motion through a drum at the top of the vertical raker shaft to which the arms are linked by ropes wound around the drum. Method enables one drive to be used for all raking arm motions so that the design is simplified and cheaper.
