Abstract

Joint comprises two complementary half-shells which are hinged together integrally by a hinge zone along one of their longitudinal edges. The half-shells are provided with assembly means, pref. consisting of >=1 projection near the free edge of one half-shell, for engagement with a lug of complementary shape near the free edge of the other half-shell. On the inner walls of the half-shells are means for retaining the ringed tube, pref. consisting of a fin on the inner wall of each half-shell for engaging in a groove in the ringed tube. There may be several fins of different height for ringed tubes of different dia. The joint is pref. made of polypropylene. The two half-shells are always correctly positioned relative to each other.
