Abstract
The driven axle for a road vehicle has a body in which is mounted a shaft. A rotatable hub is mounted on the body and is driven by an epicyclic gear train which is driven by the shaft and mounted at the end of the axle. The epicyclic gear train is mounted in a casing which contains oil. The gear train has a satellite carrier fixed to the hub, a planet wheel being mounted on the shaft. The satellite carrier is mounted in a bearing carried by the casing.
