Abstract
A gas is introduced into a liquid that is to be converted into into a foam, and then leading the gas/liquid mixt. through a zone contg. randomly distributed obstacles. Pref. the obstacles consist of a filling of metallic wires or fibres. The mixt. may be passed through several zones. The gas is air, N2, CO2, natural gas or butane. Easy, continuous prodn. of large amounts of foam contg large amounts of gas. The volume of gas, and size of the foam cells, can be varied over a wide range. Uses a relatively cheap appts. that can be easily cleaned.
