Abstract

A process for recovering a Zn-rich prod. from prods. used in the mfr. of steel in a steel making plant incorporating an appts. for the continuous prodn. of liq. metal is described. The prods. contg. Zn are selected stored, and continuously charged, during limited periods, into the appts. continuously producing liq. metal. The gases given off are treated in dust removal installation and the dust contg. almost all the Zn introduced with the charge is recovered. Recycling of dusts in the blast furnace is avoided and the accumulation of Zn in the blast furnace is prevented.
